Hi, i recently bought a pair of Bill lawerence keytone pickups for my MIM tele.

The problem iv got is its got two ground wires and one hot wire. This confused me as the pickups i have taken out only had one group wire. Also i noticed with the original pickups they were grounded to the bridge and body as well, before finally connecting to the volume knob.

Was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on what gets soldered where?!

thanks

Twist the Black and Blue wires together and ground to the back of a pot.

On the bridge PU one is the normal pickups ground the other is from the base plate. on some fender pickups there is a screw in the plate to attach a ground (mine is looped to this screw) some pickups don't have a metal base plate so no ground lug. I would send an e-mail to them for the best answer. See below

This is from paper work I have received from Bill Lawrence

"The L-280TL by Bill Lawrence.

Our L-280TL pickups are prepared for multi-sound wiring. Solder the white lead to the 3 position toggle switch and the black lead to the back of the volume or tone control. If there is a phasing problem, you can reverse the white and the black lead. The additional blue lead provides string grounding only and must be soldered to the back of one of the controls."

As I said earlier: twist the black and the blue wires together and solder them to the back of one of the pots.
