Hey all,

My G-string tuning machine died last week. It won't turn anymore =(. I have been doing a lot of research and I cannot find a decent set of aftermarket tuning machines that are a direct drop-in replacement for my MiM Tele.

Ideally, I want to avoid drilling more holes. Should I just go with another set from Fender or can anyone here recommend a decent aftermarket set?

Serial begins with MZ, so its 1999-2000 year model.

Here's one choice that will work. I've installed a set in a MIM Standard Strat and they're a straight swap.

See those two little pins that stick out? These go into two holes in the back of your neck and they're what keep the tuners in place.

Those are what you need to look for in a set of tuners if you don't want to drill holes.

Are there any non-locking alternatives?

I haven't been able to find anything on the websites for Grover, Schaller, Gotoh, and Sperzel.
