I have an opportunity to pick up a damaged MIM 60's Tele. The neck is apparently warped beyond repair (according to the owner). They're willing to sell for $200.

Thoughts? Good deal or no? Would obviously be buying for the parts (slap another neck on, or at least part it out to ebay).

Well, it's damaged you say, but is it only the neck?

How are the electronics, body, tuners, etc?

I've seen them go for about $300 in good condition without warped necks.

Good deal for guys who like buying guitars in parts (like me).

I'd buy myself if I knew where it was.

I'm with Miami Mike on this one. Pass. You can find a decent used one for around $350.00.

I decided not to bite on this one. I already have two MIM guitars and I don't really need another "half" of a guitar. Seller said they neck was severely bowed to the point that an adjustment isn't going to fix it.

Going to save my pennies as I really want an AS Tele in CRT

I have a feeling you won't regret that decision.

About a month or two away from having saved up!

I have a problem when I see a "good deal" on something. I may not need it or even want it but I have a tough time passing it up because it's a deal.
