I'm building a tele - first try at building a guitar, and I just ordered a warmoth neck, but I'm nervous about attaching it to the body because the body doesn't have any holes drilled in it. Does anyone know where I can buy a cheap neck - $50 or so - to practice on before I get the Warmoth?

Thanks

Yes, I've bought four pickups and one pickguard from them and have no complaints.

I have no experience with their necks or bodies but I'm very tempted to try one of their bodies. If they offered them in Sherwood Green, I'd have one already. :D

I like the Capri Orange, too. Would look cool with a Highway One rosewood neck with the '70s logo, IMO - mighty tempting for fifty bucks!

Can't beat it really. If you do hope it works out great for you and give us a report and pics of course.

One word of advice. The necks that GFS sells are 1/16" wider than Fender necks and may not fit in the neck pocket. I'd look for a Squier neck on ebay Just plug the hole first on the neck. Great neck to practice your fret dressing skills along with maybe installing a new nut. Then when your done you can resell the neck. Of course you may just want to keep it by then.

Just looked again and maybe I'm wrong. The necks and bodies used to be the same ones used in the Xavier guitars they sell. They had a warning posted on their site then. Played a used one at the music store nice fit and finish but the neck was definitely wider.
