My Nashville Tele in Honey Blonde came in a day early and I`m very happy with it. I picked up a DVD on Arlen Roth`s Masters of the Telecaster while I was there. Anbody ever hear of him ? Very informative. Image

Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrry nice......I love that finish.

Arlen Roth, yes a very good guitarist and teacher in his own right.
Congrats on the new toy!

Thanks Snowy...but I noticed something about the ash body. It seems to have more sustain than alder...Also when its unplugged its a bit louder that my Am. Strat with the alder body. Does that seem right or am I imagining this ? I was wondering why they used ash with this color and the other two colors , sunburst and red are alder.

I can't get the Fishman on my Power Tele to cut out and just have the Tele sound.

Any thoughts?

Beautiful Guitar 8)

Fender used ash on guitars that had a natural or transparent finish and alder for the rest. and you are right ash does produce more sustain the volume has more to do with the difference in guitars Unless its a hardtail strats dont's transfer the string resonance to the body as well.

There a guy out there that makes custom wired controls for strats and teles you might check it out it's called TFN Technologies

Thanks for clearing that up Ida, for a little while I thought I was imagining the difference in sound and sustain between ash and alder.

I traded it in for a Hwy 1, it just wasn`t giving me the tone I was looking for. Besides that, the skunk stripe on the neck was not sanded down properly and it was raised a little more than the rest of the stripe down by the first 3 frets. Even the pup switch felt cheap to me. When I got the Hwy 1 I noticed a difference in the hardware right away and the neck was much smoother. I`m happier with the Hwy 1 for a number of reasons and the extra $100 was worth spending.
