I changed the output jack on my baja tele because my monster cable
would not fit and now i have a "static" sound. Could someone please
tell me what I did wrong and how to fix this problem? I used
a switchcraft jack. Also I was wondering if it would help to use
foil tape on the underside of the pickguard and in the control area?
Any help would be great.

First check for a bad solder connection on the jack. Next, ensure that the positive wire solder terminal of that jack isn't grounding out against anything within the cavity. Lastly, ensure that when the jack is plugged in, the prong from the jack and/or the tip of the cable is not grounding out against anything within the cavity.

In your case, if said static wasn't happening immediately before the jack change, chances are overwhelming it isn't necessary to foil the pickguard now.
