Absolutely George. Whatever it is, its clearly not what the seller claims it is.

Is the deluxe tele neck heel the same as the deluxe strats. If so there will be 5 holes or 3 regular and one elongated hole in the neck heel.

As were my initial suspicions. Fortunately, this pushes me over the edge to do the custom Tele I REALLY want. Every one of these that has come along has either been fake or had something in the fine print, damaged in some way, etc.

So, Anyone seen the new SHPR-1 Seymour Duncans? You get a P90, a single coil rail, and when combined together, a humbucker. Put in a pair along with S-1 switching and there's about a bazillion combinations.

Warmoth Contoured and Bound Swamp Ash Deluxe Tele body with Tortoise pickguard and all black pups, knobs, and switches. Most go white on white which is why I go black on tortoise.

Rosewood over Maple, 22 medium jumbo frets, Deluxe style neck, Abalone dots, and lockers.

All gold hardware. Hey, I don't have all these horror story corrosion problems other people complain about with gold H/W.

Three color choices at the moment probably depending on price.

1. Chocolate 3 tone Burst
2. Violinburst
3. Just Clear Ash

Feel free to vote on color if you want. Or not . . . Discussions are under way with the builder.

Thanks for all the feedback on the fake.

There's nothing wrong with a fake Tele just as long as you know that important little detail at the time of purchase and don't end up paying more than you should. Some of the best sounding guitars I've ever played were Parts-Casters. They may not be genuine Fender issue but they can still be genuinely sweet guitars.

Not when they're advertised as the real deal. Makes you wonder what else you don't know.

Like I said before, better Tele fish in the sea.

Although, I will admit the first pass at my custom came in at $2800. Gulp. Though the builder I picked has done some awesome stuff, I may have to builder shop a little more.

Even with the extra customization, SHPR-1 Pups, and we worked a tremolo in the deal, etc. I am only seeing about $1600 in cost from mainly the Warmoth body and neck. Seems to me a $1200 profit on a $1600 guitar is a bit much.

Of course, this is just the first pass too.

My point was if you know it's a fake and you want it anyway and you pay an appropriate price and are happy with the end result where is the harm in that? In that scenario, the vendor's false advertising did not make your Parts Caster any less valuable to you. You paid what you thought was a fair price for a fake and now you have your guitar. Done deal. There will always be people who will try to rip others off. This is a great site for having plenty of experts around to point out fakes so if you know it's a fake and you wanted it anyway for less money why get all bent out of shape about what the vendor says? If you want genuine Fender then don't buy it. If you don't care then have at 'er. Our society is built on ideas like let the buyer beware. The OP is now fully aware it's a fake but knowing that doesn't automatically mean the guitar has nothing to offer a buyer in terms of usability. The OP chose not to make a smaller offer and that's his choice based on a desire to have a genuine Fender.

People who false advertise are no more than criminals when it comes to these fakes. Not everyone knows about guitars and fall victim to these fraudsters time and time again. These fakes are falsely advertised for that purpose.

Partscasters CAN be very nice. Advertising them as something else is wrong.

Of course it's wrong but that wasn't my point. It never was. My point was it's not always a bad thing to buy a Parts Caster. I didn't make any comment (in my first post on this subject) about the attempted con-job. I merely said there's nothing wrong with owning a fake Tele as long as you were not sucked in. I fail to understand why there should ever have been any argument with that statement.
