Alright, I just sold my 52 AVRI to fund another guitar.....I have a nice selection of guitars and here is what I found out about myself and guitars.

The 52 AVRI is a gorgeous guitar, finish and quality are top notch. But I found myself going back to my American Standard Tele, I really do prefer the 9.5 radius neck, longer scale, alnico v pickups and larger frets. When I pickup the AS Tele, it just fit, right away.

So I'm going to use the sale of the 52 AVRI to fund a telecaster thinskin with a neck humbucker. 9.5 neck radius, larger frets and longer scale - perfect for me.

I'll keep you posted on its' arrival.

I know what you mean. I fell right in the groove with my MIA standard tele!! I've always owned Strats up until I bought the Tele. One of my favorites now!! :)

Right on!! There wasn't anything wrong with the 52, it is a magnificant tele, super classic.
For me, I kind of got trapped in the "more expensive is always better" mentality. Now I've learned that when testing or looking for a guitar, set the price aside and play them all. Then select the one that speaks to you and feels right, regardless of the price.

The American Standard Telecaster has got to be one of the greatest of all time.

+1, you really can get some killer tone from the alnico v's (currently my favorite tone pickups) and the delta tone is an added bonus. I've got 2 American Standards, in case goes down, I've got another as backup.
