order a glendale 3 barrel bridge, with 2 brass on one alum. barrels, and put in a set of glendale pots, and put a toggle switch that cuts off the tone to the neck pick up to add a little birghtness to it....thats where i would start

hey,

i found the following website to have some interesting mods.

http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazine/I ... Guide.aspx

also i stuck a wilkinson 3 saddle bridge on mine, wilkinson kluson style tuners (for that extra vintage look), changed the string tees, bigger strap buttons (i found it was always slipping off) and some new bill lawrence keytone pickups (cheap and sweet!). Also looking at a getting a bone nut :-\

2bh when you start looking on sites there is soo much you can do, its pretty impressive!

It works best if you switch locations of volume and tone controls so the volume knob is closer to your hand. You'll also want to flip the switch around and doing all this usually requires some rewiring because the stock wires are usually too short for all this movement.

That said, I am not a big fan of that setup because I can't wrap my pinky around the tone control with the switch in the forward position. But many like it and it's a simple mod. I've thought of ordering a blank control plate from GFS and drilling for a mini-toggle switch instead of the usual Tele switch to get around this problem - maybe I will the next time I'm wiring up a Tele from scratch.

Good article....I just read through it at work, and I can almost smell the solder! Gonna have to do some tinkering once I finish the Strat!

I have a 2006 USA H/S Tele with S-1 switching:

I love the guitar's feel and look even though the blue is rather odd. I wasn't crazy about the neck pickup (Enforcer) so I ordered a new pickguard and a Seth Lover:

I love it even more now.

Does anyone know who, other than Bill Kirchen and Terry Kath, that ever did this to their Telecasters?

Sure, I like them, and they bolt right on a MIM Standard. All you need is a screwdriver.

Electrosocket. It changes the look, but more importantly improves input jack stability and provides piece of mind that it will not fail.

I put in the brass compensated saddles which make intonation a snap, but it seems to suck out a noticeable amount of twang. I really like the Electrosocket though.
