I'm currently assembling an American Deluxe tele with some of my own customizations and i was wondering what is the difference in sound and playing between the vintage 3 saddle bridges and the modern six saddles? What would you go for? also on that note, i'm looking at a custom warmoth neck and wondering if an ebony fretboard would have a detrimental effect vs a rosewood. Thanks for any help. This is my first tele and i'm hoping it turns out well. :D

I have a CA Tele w/6 saddles and a CS NOS 63 Tele w/3. I prefer the three. Less parts, more sustain. As far as wood, the ebony might be a bit bright for a Tele. But, I have never played one with ebony, so I'll let some one with expertise in that area correct me if needed.

Hope everything turns out well with your project

Three saddle is what I would choose also. You might not be able to get intonation perfect at times, but it really doesn't matter, just depends on how picky you are in this area I guess.

well it seems the consensus is the vintage three. cool i think i might try the compensated three since it supposedly improves intonation as well. Any opinions on the vintage style 6 saddle bridge? and has the ashtray style bridge plate given anyone a problem?

Vintage 3. I suggest Glendale's -- solid construction.
