In the movie, "Cadillac Records" it's always showing Muddy playing a Les Paul, with only one or two quick shots with a Tele. Wasn't Muddy always a Tele man?

The pic's that surprised me was of Duane Allman. Live he always played a Les Paul and Marshalls but in the studio he played a Strat with a Fender Princton jumping off the table. Go Figure

I remember I have a mag here with Muddy holding a strange guitar... I'll try to find it.

But with a Les Paul, no no, I haven't seen. Maybe a hollowbody at some point in the late 50's.

I've only seen pics of muddy with his tele. I've also read a quote of him saying he only needed that one guitar, not like many of us that tote around 3 or more. Wish I could stick to just one, but unfortunitly I suffer from G.A.S. from time to time.

slash is renowned for playing les pauls but in a couple of interviews he said how much he loves strats and has used them on numerous recordings for guns and velvet revolver.

Ops, I forgot about this thread.. The guitar Muddy is using in the pic (from 1968) is a Guild S200 Thunderbird from 1963, with 2 single-coil pickups and a Hagstrom vibrato bar. He appears using it on the stage.
