I was looking at a new tele and I am kinda torn between a fmt hh or a j5 deluxe.....hmmmm....I play lots of styles of music such as metal, classic rock, blues, country, shred, hard rock, experimental and pop music like michael jackson. Does anyone own either of these guitars that can give me some advice? It will all be greatly appreciated 8)

I'd get the J5. Another thing you may want to do is get a Squier OBEY telecaster and change some of the parts. it'll sound good. 8)

A really good non traditional Tele is the Jim Adkins JA-90. IT has a set neck, genuine SD P-90s and howls.

LOL!!
Cool guitar.
Looks kinda like a Gibson made Tele Thinline from 1959.
Gonna try and find one of those to try out.

I assume it's MIM??

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

If you can find a Tele Plus that sounds just like what you are looking for. not one of the new ones your looking at, but a route you may want to look, also i really like the j5 but i hate the look of the headstock.

I love my 2006 Tele HH because it gets whatever sound I want. Too bad they don't make it anymore. If you can see the picture, know that the mods were done for ergonomic reasons only. The guts are stock.

here is my choice this is my PRS Caster....it is a 05 fmt hh loaded with a sd pearly gates in the bridge and a vintage bass neck pu from a 82 prs in the neck. it has coil taps for both pus, and it goes from a great les paul, to a eric johnson sound, to a twangy tele sound, and even a nice hollow body type sound, the mot versitale guitar i have ever owned!!!

I saw one of these a few days ago, it was black though. I was told it was made in Malaysia, think I will go in on Monday and give her a try. I much prefer the red though, nice guit Ajay.
