I'm going to buy/order an American Std Tele in the next few days so I've been thinking about the mods I will want to do it after I get it. I can't leave anything alone - just my nature. ;)

Anyway, one of the mods I was thinking about was to the control plate. I've read how some folks flip their control plate around so the volume knob is closer to their picking hand. This makes sense to me but I'd like to take it one step further and get a control plate that is configured for volume, switch, and tone.

I know I can get blank Tele control plates and drill them out for this configuration but I'd like to just find out that's already like this. It doesn't seem that odd but after scouring the net, I've come up with nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you,

Matt B.

As far as I know, you'll have to go the blank and drill out path on this one...

I think the switch would be alittle awkward in the middle unless you went for the Custom style toggle so it moved up and down. The throw is long on the normal switch and the knobs might get in the way if it's in the middle so building your own would be the best way to go but I would experiment on thin wood or plastic first to get the placement like you want it before you start Drilling Blanks

I've been thinking about a reverse control plate I've seen one that has flames coming off the end I think might be Cool. But I'm such a tight wad that I will probably redo a stock one first by switching the Vol and Tone to see if I like it first.
