I agree. If it sounds good I would just keep it and play it. Real or a mock-up is in the eye of the beholder. I have come accross mock-ups that sound better than ones coming off the Fender line.

If yopu cant stand the fact its a knock-off, sell it on EBAY, but state what it is and recoupe some of your money. To me, I wouldnt care as long as it played nice and stayed in tune and didnt buzz. Who knows-- maybe you got a better figure dneck or a nicer-grained body than an official Fender rig.

Hi,

I cannot take it back. But the guy offers to gice me some genuine fender pickups and tone switch to make up for the problem. Apparently he didn't know himself that it was a fake. But I don't know about upgrading parts on this one because I'm not happy with the faulty holes in the body.

And if I sell it to someone else, I think that I should sell it for about 100$ and call it a China made Fender.

What do you think?

Who knows if the pickups are genuine either, but I say take what you can get back and if you are still not happy, sell it. Just be sure to let people know it is not a real Fender.

Sounds like the guy did know if he's offering to give you stuff but won't refund your money. Most guys who know enough to swap pickups and switches would know what kind of a guitar they're selling.

If you sell it, don't call it a "China made Fender". It's not a Fender. Call it a "copy of a Telecaster of unknown origin" or something like that.
