hello everyone,

I bought this guitar second-hand and suspect it to be a Fender copy. It reads Fender made in USA on the headstock but it has :

- no reference in the neck socket
- no reference at the end of the neck
- very dodgy holes for the saddle main screws in the body
- no reference on the pickups
- the logos on the head stock are :
- Front : Fender TELECASTER in bold types
- Back : "ORIGINAL Contour Body", "SERIAL NUMBER Z0161***", "MADE IN USA"

Thanks for your help.

Yes, the neck socket is badly painted, is there anything wrong with it?

Is there any chance that the neck could be US made?

The saddle screws holes in the body are have been peirced twice because of inaccurate position.

The electronic works but the bass is poor.

Would it be worth to buy a new decent body or the neck and the electronics look hopeless to you?

The "Original Contour Body" sticker is also a dead giveaway. That's only found on the front of a Stratocaster headstock.

If you can't return it, the thing to think about is does it play nicely? If so then I'd say keep it and rock on. Sucks that you got a bad deal, but if it plays well you can make the most of it!
