Just got her back from the luthier. I decided to leave the stock pups in it because I think they sound so good I didn't want to mess with the tone at all. But here she is after all the mods I have done. I added a 3 ply BWB guard, top hat switch selector, vintage string tree, brass saddles and vintage tuners (no visible holes on the back of the headstock). I have an ashtray cover but I am not crazy about how it looks so I am going to sell it on ebay with the other parts. I didn't think it was possible to love my HWY 1 more than before but after the mod I am even more in love with her!

BCB - SWEET! You did an awesome job. I really like how she looks!

You don't like the ashtray? I have one on my Nashville Tele and really like the vintage look, but to each his own!

I like the top hat too. That's my favorite switch selector on my Tele's.

Great job Dude!

I like the ashtray and think it looks super killer you just have t be mega carefull taking it off and on or you'll make some dings in the nitro. I'll probably keep it, but only use it sparingly. It does look super vintage in cool.

im really not a huge fan of the vintage tuners but as a whole the guitar looks amazing, good choice with the pickups though, i love the sound of my highway one i dont understand why people change out the pickups in all their guitars, they underestiamte the stock pickups.

ah man i love the vintage tuners! but i also liked the pickups too. sure they werent as flavorful as a set of kinman's or lollar's, but for what came stock I thought they were just fine. i hated to sell this guitar, but had to in order to fund my dreamcaster and now Ii can say it was totally worth it...although I will have another HWY some day. Daphne blue with a rosewood board is calling me!

The Hwy 1 in white is real nice and looks great with that pick guard. Turned out pretty good, enjoy it.

You can also replace the black CBS logo with an early 50's spaghetti-style decal to complete the vintage look.
