I love my Tele FMT HH, but have always been confused about what the pickups are. Some info about the guitar says it has Seymour Duncans, other info says they're Fender humbuckers. The pickups DO NOT have the common Seymour Duncan stamp on the front, but I don't know if that means they surely are NOT SD's. How do I determine what they are?

Love my Strat FSR, with two humbucking EMG's, too! An UnStrat and and UnTele!! The purists are twisting in their skin!

Thanks in advance!
Neal

if yours is a set neck with one volume one tone then i ahve the mate to it.
here is the scooby on it, mine had fender pu's in it when i got it, it was made in asia, the ones with seymours in it are made in america, mine has a sd in the bridge and a prs vintage bass from an 82 prs in the neck, but if urs is from asia it is fender if it is american it is seymour duncans

I bought the guitar based on how it sounds, not on what pickups it had, but why is this so confusing? Shouldn't they be two DIFFERENT guitar models if they have two completely different pickups? I have mistakenly commented positively about SD pickups because that's what I thought I had. It is very misleading.

Is yours the MIA Deluxe FMT/QMT or the MIM FMT?

But the pickups do NOT say Seymour Duncan on them.
See the following ad, where it shows MY guitar, but the description says Seymour Duncan. I have found this disparity in many locations. The photo in the ad does not have the SD branding on the pickups.

I have got one guitar as yours from ebay too.

The seller told me it comes with SD pickups too but mine version without the label of SD on the pickup.

Like your case, some told me that it is fender pickup and some told me that the pick up has been changed.

But I heard (no prove) that this model (Made in Korea) actually exist 2 version with SD pickup and Fender Pickup....

Confuse me too...

Anyone can help??

My suggestion would be to remove the pickups and look at the base; I have a Spalted FMT with the SD's, there is a logo imprint and a sticker on the back with the usual SD info. The logo on the front is stamped on, it is easily removed if someone wishes.

LOL, they actually have an error there, the Pearly Gates is in the bridge position, and the '59 is in the neck.

Duncan pickups almost always say Seymour Duncan on the front (an exception being the neck position Quarter Pounder in my Telecaster). If it doesn't say Seymour Duncan on it somewhere, it's not a Seymour Duncan pickup.
