I have a 52 re-issue tele that has a gorgeous blonde body. People are constantly commenting on the beauty of the wood pattern that you can see thru the finish. My struggle I want to add some lettering, on the body, and make it all mine or leave it in it's beautiful natural state.
In the past I've treated and cared for my guitars as if they were a untouchable treasure. This one I love and I don't ever figure on giving it up. What's a guy to do?

Welcome to the forum!!

I would keep the tele as it is. It's just too nice a guitar.

It's your guitar, though - do as you wish  I think a lot of people here would tear their hair out to compromise the looks of such a nice body.

IMO the '52 is an icon that deserves all the respect you've shown the other guitars in your collection.

Cheers

Decorate it with your playing. Otherwise, leave it alone!

Thanks for the input. No, I'm not giving it away... I'm leaving my Honey Blonde alone. I figured out, sometimes requires a brick to head, that if I can't make the decision then leave it be. Thanks for confirming what he was so hesitant to do. daveb2300

I just bought the same thing and like you just love it as well as that beautiful blonde finish that if you want my opinion - would not touch it! Just Fender polish and T.L.C.

This is crazy. Slap a sticker on it, paint it, stencil it, drill a hole in it. carve ur initials in it. It's a chunk of wood. As long as it makes you happy, why would anyone care. It's a guitar, smash it over an amp if you like. They make more every day.
