I bought a used Deluxe Nashville Tele and the seller (2nd owner) was told it was a 2002.

Well, I noticed while trying it out that the serial number started MZ5, meaning its a 2005-2006.

Is it possible that it has a new replacement neck (do those have serial numbers) or did I just get a 3 year old guitar for the price of a 7-8 year old.

I paid $300 for it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't worry about it my Man. One of the previous owners probably got himself a bit confused. As long as everything looks and sounds right, I'd be tickled pink to snag a Deluxe Nashville for 3 bills.

I doubt seriously somebody would fake one of these. I have one, and while it's nice, it's not an expensive enough piece to build one out of something else and then push it as a real one. Not for $300.

I say you've got a nice 2005 and play the hell out of it!
