I recently spoke with someone from Wildwood Guitars in Colorado about the American Vintage '62 Telecaster Customs they had in stock.
The guy told me that along the binding of the guitar the paint is beginning to crack or craze.
Has anybody seen this happen to theirs?
Is there anything Fender will do to repaint the guitar?
Just wondering. $1,400.00 is a lot to pay for a guitar where the paint is beginning to come off just hanging on the wall.

That is a serious defect. Fender should fix a problem like that. Yes I have seen 1 guitar that had the same problem as what you described. It wasn't a tele though. He had a LP. He had his for a few months before the binding pulled apart a tiny bit and Gibson fixed it. He was the original owner of the guitar.

Hello! I own a new American Vintage '62 Telecaster Custom about one year and never had a finish cracking problems.

In my country climatic conditions are really wild.. At winter we may have -30C and at the summer +30C. Humidity balance varies too..

When in my house temp aprox. +28C and -25C outdoor I simply put my guitar in the case with strings low pitched and going to rehearsal..

I've do it so many times and still nothing with nitro.

I'm quite certain Fender will stand by their warranty.

I wonder whether the instruments at Wildwood are "Thin Skins?" It wouldn't surprise me if they were. It also wouldn't surprise me if that didn't have something to do with it if they were. Further, it's mighty dry this time of year in Colorado...
