Hello Fenderists.

I've heard good things about the Fender Baja Telecaster, regarding the pickups and the general picture of it - considering the price of it. Since i'll soon be picking up a Fender to compliment my Studio LP, i want to ask if anyone has any experience with the Baja Fender. So far, it's the only Fender i've found without a need for a pickup-change, and it has everything but the details, like a Vintage Telecaster for 3000$

Anything, guys? :)

I bought a Baja when they first hit the market in 2006 and I love mine. The Custom Shop designed Twisted Tele neck and Broadcaster bridge pickups combined with 4 way switching and S-1 make the Baja the most versatile Tele I own. The beefy 9 inch radius soft V neck is another plus. I don't have large hands and it's still one of the most comfortable necks I have played.

I can't think of much I don't like about my Baja. Okay, the stock 1 ply pickguard warped to the point where I decided to replace it, but that's it. Other than that it's been nothing but love. :)

Hi John.

Thanks for your reply. I'm very pleased to hear, what you think of your Baja. Next time i hit the guitarstore, I'm gonna take a serious look at it, and try out all the features it has. I am really looking forward to it. Thanks :)

I'm one of the few who didn't like the Baja.

I thought the neck was too much like a baseball bat (even though I have big hands) and I didn't particularly like any of the noises it made. Too modern and not enough chime to my ears. I prefer the 60s Classic to all the Mexican Teles I've tried.

That's the way to do it... play before you buy. :)

It was all the modern Custom Shop features included on a classic 50s style Tele that initially sold me on the Baja and I'm still sold on it three and a half years later.

I bought a Desert Sand Baja but the Blonde with black pickguard really captures the classic 50s Tele look.
