or Polyester, let's all take a moment of silence for the first time you scratched, nicked or dinged a new guitar. I did it tonight, I have had my Hwy about 2 Months and just now put the first scratch it and it's a mean looking one. Not through the nitro but about 2 inches long and noticeable in the light. Oh well, I plan to mod this guitar and keep it forever until the nitro has worn slam off.

But let's all have a short moment of silence for each and every guitar and the first time it gets dinged. 8)

i got my first scratch on my MIA standard strat a week after i had it. i put it on my guitar stand, and i didnt notice the holder on the stand was upside down. the guitar slid of the stand and fell on a maglite flashlight.
but guitar scratches and ect. are all part of your guitars individuality and character.

yeah it was bound to happen sometime, better to get it out of the way early! I buy guitars to play them, so scratches nicks dings are all just the scars of battle!

I have a couple on mine too...but oh well..I knew it was bound to happen eventualy. Just think at least its not a 50 grand corvette. It just comes with the territory. I plan on keep my Hwy 1 anyhow.

Me too, I'm keeping my HWY 1 so I just figure every nick or ding os another step closer on the natural relic process!

I remember my first, it was terrifying, my month old Ibanez Artcore Hollowbody was set up next to a drum set, the one cymbal was poorly balanced and fell over, the edge of the cymbal slammed down into the cutout of the guitar. I could have died. it left a huge gash that went all the way down to the wood, didn't scuff the wood, but its that deep

i know that feeling. I had a Les paul copy Agile guitar, it was sitting in the stand and as I walked away i remember looking at it thinking "maybe I should make sure it isnt going to fall off the stand", because it looked like it wasnt sitting in there securely, but I didnt listen to my instincts. I turned the corner and heard it crash to the ground! I was sick to my stomach for like 2 days before I had a guitar tech take a look at the neck and it was ok, but still it put a nice ding in the front of the flame top.

I know it hurst . . . . But look on the bright side, you now own a "Road Worn" guitar :D

And it's earned it's battle scars honorably not had fake ones applied.

Embrace the MOJO!

yesssir, a natural relic it will be! "The Highwaymen", I like that.

Don't get me wrong I take care of my equipment, but hell I bought it to play it so I am not going to treat it like a newborn. My buddies all keep their guitars spotless but I am trying to rock out!

And I am looking to get a red Hwy 1 now! with rosewood neck! 8)

I hate getting a scratch on any of my babies, that's why I'm obsessive(Ive been told)about letting anyone else touch them,I'd rather break a limb.

what I am most tempted by is a partscaster one of my buddies put together with a ash natural body, black pickguard and a MIJ neck and some Lindy Fralin Blues Special pickups. he says he will sell it to me for 180, and that would be a steal because it is a killer guitar. Vintage tuners too. So it's either get that and rock with it or put together more money and get either a brand new Hwy1 in the red nitro or a MIJ fotoflame Tele. What i really want is ALL of them! 8)
