Hello all,
I'm trying to decide between this and the Highway 1 Tele. I am looking for modern rock tones and I am not familiar with the Vintage-Noiseless pups. I am really digging the butterscotch blonde finish for under $1k !!! Thanks

The Vintage Noiseless pickups are very sterile sounding. With them in an Ash Tele body, you'll get the furthest thing from what you are looking for.

Thats what I was afraid of.... Thanks. Is the Highway 1 better suited for the some modern rock tones?

Definitely. I have played the Noiseless and wasn't super impressed but all the feedback I got from them was the same so I don't think I was being overly critical. I'd go for the Honey Blonde HWY 1 and change the pickguard to black if your looking for a similar look the the Standard. The Pups in the HWY 1 are pretty much perfect for modern rock tones. Just my opinion of course.

I would definitely think so. The bridge pickup could be a 'maybe' however. You'd be the final word on it after experiencing it for a while.

Thanks guys... Last question. I tried out a Highway 1 Tele a few months ago. I didn't find a huge difference in the Jumbo frets vs the Medium Jumbos on my MIM Strat. Do you guys find there is a big difference between the two? THanks

Not really. After you've been playing either guitar for about 5 minutes or so, you'll not be conscious of one versus the other. In other words, you'll immediately adapt.

Well I saw the add for this guitar and really liked how it looked. No previous experience with either Telecasters and/or VN pups.
Went down to GC and played it and really liked that Tele sound. Talked to one of the sales person there and with a 20% discount, walked out of the store with my first Telecaster!

Really happy with it. I have a Strat and a Hamer as well.

Unlike most of you, I don't have a lot of years playing guitar and to be honest know little to nothing about what to look for when it comes to MIA,MIM,MIJ,MIK only that with limited funds, I look for what I can afford.

It's a 2 piece body looking at the end of the guitar and the feel of it is really nice. The Tone control feels a little loose so I'm going to tighten that up. Some burr feel to some of the frets toward the beginning of the neck too, towards the pup. Not sure if that's something I can take care of myself or will diminish over time.

Anyway, just thought I'd let folks know that I thought this was a very nice guitar for a little over $500.

The color of it is just stunning!

I really like the SCN pickups that came in my Am Tele Deluxe, play straight up through either a PrincetonRI w/ JBL E-110, DDRI w/ JBL D-120, or a Custom Vibrolux Reverb, stock, or a Fender Twin, stock. The noiseless pickups are exactly that, no hum from lights or anything else. The stock pickups are a little snappier, but I get plenty of highs, and with the tone backed off a bit, you can make beautiful sounds with lush overtones. You have to try them both and see what you like but I like the SCNs.
