Rosewood that has been carefully and well polished to provide a silklike feeling on the surface. It feels more natural to have the bare wood right under my Fingertips than a glaslike layer of *plastic (*i.e. laquer).

I have always been partial to Maple Fret Boards on Fenders. It just screams Fender!

I like both and love the feel of a Maple V 52 neck, or the slim Rosewood 62 necks....both are nice. Some people think the necks make the guitar sound different.

Ummmm...I have never been sure as I have a lot of both and do the plug/play/test and it seems they feel different but do not sound different.....but then each guitar has it's own characteristics, wood density, finish, etc. too....so it is hard to tel what is making each guitar sound a little bit different.

Any ideas?

Rosewood imparts a warmer tone and gives you more texture and feel when doing bends therefore I'll have one of each.
