I'm considering the purchase of a new Highway One Texas Telecaster and I'm researching the thing. It seems to have several features I'm interested in, primarily the 12" neck radius (which I am used to and like). Even though I live in Houston, I haven't been able to put my hands on a Highway One Texas model to try it. I'm hoping the neck is similar to my old Peavey Reactor (anyone know?).

Anyway, I'm not having much luck finding information regarding the pickups on the Texas model. They are described as "Hot Vintage," but I do not see "Hot Vintage" pickups listed separately on the Fender web site. Are these "Hot Vintage" pickups used on another model of Telecaster? Am I just not finding the information regarding them on the Fender site?

I'd love to hear replies regarding the pickups on the Texas model, and also, if anyone can vouch for any similarities to a Texas model's neck with an old Peavey Reactor's neck.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, can't help you. Got the same question about a ''Twisted Tele''
neck pickup on my Classic Player Baja Telecaster MIM.
No information and specs about this PU either.

Thanks for the reply, Peter. I guess it's some kind of mystery. You might have a little more luck finding information regarding your Baja Telecaster.

Funny you should mention the Baja; about an hour ago I spent around 30 minutes playing one of those exact instruments (with no amp) at the local GC. I liked it a lot. It felt very good, the balance was perfect, and even without an amp it sounded very good. I didn't want to hear it through an amp since I was in there swinging a deal on a HWY 1 TX tele. LOL! By the way, the Baja was only slightly less money than the TX model, and we had to get the TX model from Manhattan (NYC). They had a very nice MIM Esquire there, also.
