Everybody was using them when I was a kid. They are kind of neater. As for sound, some people believe that the coiling affects the signal. But the microcurrents that are flowing through the cable are so tiny that I kind of doubt it.

They give you a bit more warning before you walk to far away from your amp and your cable comes out, because you can feel the tension increasing from the bout of your guitar.
So im sure they could save some gig embarrassment.

I always liked the vintage look of them, I use this one in white:

ah i had heard rumours that it might affect the signal, but wasn't sure. I didn't know if it would make it brighter or anything like that?

I think i may get one to go with the vintage look (i have a sunburst tele and a vox ac15) but what colour to go for, white or black, thats the question! :P

I haven't noticed any issues with signal or output since switching over so that might just be rumors. I chose the white just because it would go best with my Tele.

There are some on ebay at a good price that are Fender brand.

I think its a retro thing. Whats old becomes new again. I'm tempted to get one.
