I have a 2007 MIM Tele and have heard that the body is already routed for a humbucker in the neck position. Does anyone no if this is true???

If so any suggestions on a good humbucker for that position?

If not, has anyone put a "lipstick" or "stacked" humbucker to use? I want to do some upgrades to the guitar but want to start here.

thanks.

G'day. I have an '08 and I'm pretty sure all that'd fit would be a mini-humbucker without further modification. Best idea would be to lift the scratchplate and take some measurements. Then you'll know for sure.

Cheers.

True, they are all routed for a humbucker on the neck position. So you can fit a regular 'Gibson" style humbucker there, or a bucker-shaped P-90 or mini-humbucker and many more.

Make sure the humbucker is not in the high output range, or it will overpower the bridge pickup.

Personnally I like the Seymour Duncan Vintage mini humbucker, the one that is stock in the 52 tele hotrod. It has a nice rich dark tone but not as mmuch as the 57 classic full size humbucker.
It's all about personal preference.

good luck
