I'm thinking about having a bigsby put on my nashville deluxe tele. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I think it's something you'd like. I too have a Nashville Deluxe and it's a very versitile Tele. Additionally, I have the Classic Series 60's Tele w/ the Bigsby. It's a lot of fun to get some different sounds out of this Tele. Warning though - it does make it kinda heavy.

When I was at the Arlington show several weeks ago I stopped at the Bigsby booth. They've got a pretty simple Bigsby that will bolt onto your Tele in just a few minutes with no drilling. www.vibramate.com will show you the system. It's a very simple system to install. The Vibramate is the mounting plate that the Bigsby will bolt onto. It replaces the bridge on your Nashville Tele.

Then click over to www.bigsbyguitars.com and take a look there for some other ideas.

When you make your decision, or have questions, email adam@bigsbyguitars.com. He's the guy I talked to in Arlington. He can set you up w/ the Vibramate system. He's a very nice guy; easy to talk to. He'll explain everything involved with the system and hook you up with a price. If I remember, it's about $250 total for the Vibramate mounting plate and the Bigsby system. I may be a little high on the cost of the system, but that's pretty close.

Take a look at it and let me know what you think.

Personally..I don't like Bigsby's on Teles...again..that is my preference. I have my Strat for all that kind of stuff. But you have to do what you like and what will make you happy. I like my Teles stock...the way Fender made them...alot of guys like to mod their Teles...that is the great part here...it is what makes you happy!! :D

You must like retuning a lot.

I had an old tele with a stock Bigsby and no holes drilled in the body. I wish I had put a top-loading bridge on it.

I think they look cool, but I've never played one. Does seem like it would make the guitar heavy.

I dunno, I have a bigsby on my gretsch and all I did was throw some locking tuners on it and have never had tuning problems

There is a great alternative if your not certain about making holes in your guitar:

I have one on my Gibson SG and it rocks! If I want to switch back to the stp, there no problem.

Go for it! More versability. There are some songs that require a trem. Plus a bigsby looks mean and sweet!

I had a Bigsby installed and set up on my Gibson SG and its tough to keep in tune when you use it. By design, it's not the best vibrato and is more hassel than anything.
