D'Addario used to call their version 'half steps'. Now they have a EXL110+ Regular Light Plus 10.5-48 :

E - 0.0105
B - 0.0135
G - 0.018
D - 0.028
A - 0.038
E - 0.048

There are probably others that do the same?

A few Tele players who need to learn that 9's "suck":

James Burton (actually 8's custom...)
Albert Lee
Jim Campilongo

Feel free to Google Jim Campilongo on YouTube...and listen to those "sucky" nines...

Add to the list of players who play those 9's that "suck" most session musicians in Nashville....

Frankly for Rock I am more sympathetic to playing 11's...whuch I have done.

10's seem "neither this nor that" by comparison...and so begins the endless upgrades, etc...after the intial sense of "sounding better."

I don't know about the bottom two, but at James Burton's website it says he uses

.009
.010
.012
.024
.032
.038

So his B,G and Low E strings are lighter than a set of stock 9-42s.

Thanks for getting specific here.

10's have a richer sound(err.thinking of more acoustic sound and feel)they also contribute to more volume and thicker sound but you'll definitely have a hard time bending

I use 9's.

I use 10's. But to be honest there's not THAT much of a difference. I just decided to use the same gauge on all of my guitars. Went with 10's because 9's and 10's both sound good on Fenders but I feel 9's would be a little thin on a Gibson with the shorter scale. (Just the opinion of me and my fingers, though).

Also liked 9s on my Tele. I like the slightly thinner - more stingy tone coming coming from the unwound strings, what made my Tele sound a little closer to Roy Buchanan's.

Some have that "louder + fatter = better". What's not true (or we would all be playing bass).

I use 10s again now (changed cos I started playing slide a lot with her), but I don't consider it "better", its just different.
