Does anyone have opinions on the Highway One Texas Telecaster? No music store in my area has one to try out and I really like the specs on it. The 12" fretboard radius and hand rolled edges being two of them.
Just wondering what some of you guys and gals thought and if anyone has one what you think of them.

Thanks

I have a highway one and I must say it just sound beautiful, great sounding guitar, classic 70s looks and I love the satin nitrocellulose lacquer it makes the guitar age better, if u don't want to spend $1,000 bucks on a standard go for this one it's well-worth it, twangy classic tele sound and they've upgraded it with hot alnico pickups for more modern distortion-friendly tones, just get a hard case because this ones come with a gig bag, hope this helps my friend !

I just ordered a HWY 1 Tele...it is supposed to arrive today. I played a bunch of them...the HWY 1 Tele and the HWY 1 Tele Tex...I chose the standard HWY 1...just my personal preference. I absolutely love this guitar and can't wait for it to arrive. I am also very traditional being that I keep my guitars stock...I don't modify them because I tend to tweak my amps to get the right tone I am looking for. Fender does a fantastic job in engineering their gear so...I keep it the way it was designed. Again...this is just my preference. Some folks like to change their stuff and I can totally understand and appreciate that. I just choose not to.

Thanks guys. I think the HwyOne Texas Tele will be a great guitar. There is a $200.00 difference between the Texas Tele and the regular Highway One Tele and as much as I like the 12" radius fretboard I'm debating whether it's worth the extra dough.

I received mine about a week ago - good old tele sound with vintage features. Bridge pickup is "beefy", neck pickup is smooth, excellent quack in the mid position. Greasebucket is a plus. I adjusted both pickups very slightly lower and tweaked my amp knobs and all is good. Enjoy it.

Doesn't the Texas HWY 1 have upgraded pickups in it too? I've played on before and they are great and the $200 seems worth it for the difference in the neck and the PUPS which to me sounded hotter than the regular HWY.

I am waiting on my HWY 1 in honey blond with maple neck right now. The first one I ordered at Guitarcenter was damaged during deliver or eft the factory with a ding and 2 scratches on it!

have fun!

Yeah, I read about that in the other thread, man that's tough. See if you can post some pics when you get your new Tele.

I own an '04 Hwy 1 Texas Tele and like it alot. I did change out the stock pickups for a set of Seymour Duncan 1/4 pounders but that's just something I do. There was nothing wrong with the stock pickups I just like "over the top" high output pickups; it gives me more options.

The Texas Tele is hella comfortable to play looks GREAT, AND it's made in the USA. I used some carnuba furniture paste wax to bring out the shine on the nitro finish and protect it a bit.
