I recently bought a brand new 2009 MIM Standard tele. I could have waited and saved for an American, but it played extremely well for less than half the price and I figured I could upgrade it. That and the arctic white/maple neck is gorgeous as opposed to the blizzard pearl, which I hate.

The first upgrade I want to do is switch the bridge out. I've heard good things about Glendale and Callaham, but I'm assuming I'd have to drill new holes, etc, to do this.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a better bridge that requires minimal damage to the body?

I put a Wilkinson on mine. Cheap, great quality, great tone. Bolts right on with no modification and with the compensated saddles intonates just fine. Made a world of difference tone wise.

Wow thanks! Looks like we have the exact same guitar. Isn't it beautiful?

I love it. I installed the Wilky bridge, Tusq nut, Schaller lockers, Bill Lawrence Keystones and a Fender 4 way switch on it. I would put it against any USA standard and I bet it wins. Still only have under $500 total in it.

That guitar looks like mine, however,I put in a Barden Bridge and Vintage noiseless Pickups. I also have the ashtray cover. Simply gorgeous
