New here and to the Telecaster. Can't even play yet - .

Inherited a Blue Agave '04 MIM Standard a few months ago from my brother. I posted pics in the "Show Your Tele" thread.

He was a real enthusiast and the Tele was a more recent addition to his collection. I think he had about 9 guitars, including a very nice Black Gibson Les Paul.

I'm already thinking about modifications. Is that a bad thing?

Anyway, just saying "Hi". I'll be doing lots of reading, searching and probably asking a bunch of noobie questions (sorry about that in advance).

Hey Buddy - welcome to the Forum and the Tele experience! Glad to have you here! Why don't you leave her bone stock for awhile while you are working on your playing and start to develop a style you like? As you start to experience the sounds your Tele can make in it's stock configuration, you may decide you like her just the way she is. Only after you really figure out the sounds you like will it be time to mod her.

Good luck and let us know how you are doing!

Ricky D

By the way - that blue is a sweet color!

Thanks for the welcome and the advice.

I'm working hard to learn to play - couple hours a day, every day I can. I am starting to find a variety of sounds and getting used to finding different tones by making changes/adjustemnts to the guitar and amp (just a little Line6 SpyderIII 15W practice Amp). The internet (YouTube in particular) has been a great resource.

Customization is in my blood, though. I think I'll start simple, just a little cosmetic make over (Pick guard, etc). I think I'm going to try Black on for a while. 8)
