That would have been around 1998 or 1999. Maybe even 2000. They made an American Deluxe with the Nashville option. A middle Strat pup. They came in transparent green although it was more of an Aqua or turquoise.

It sounds like the first generation USA Deluxe Telecaster, the serial number signifies a 1998 model. In 1998 only, the Deluxe tele had three pickups, because it had been created as the follow on model to the Telecaster Plus, which also had three pickups. The differences being the change to noisless pickups from lace sensors and the change of fret dots to abalone shell and the Fender logo on the headstock changed to a chrome "Fender".

Also available in 1999.
Fender Frontline Magazine from Winter '99 (page 41) lists it as simply American Deluxe Tele, 010-5500 Rosewood and 010-5502 Maple. Color code for Teal Transparent was 848. I thought it was called a Nashville option on the AD Tele those two years. My bad.

The small switch enable you to choose what pickup combination you select, with the main selector swtich in the middle position.

With the switch back (I think) you get the middle pickup only and with the stwich forward you get the traditional tele middle position selection, which is bridge and neck pickups together. 8)

That doesn't sound right. I know there a way to get Strat style quack sounds out of them so there's got to be some way to get bridge and middle. Frontline says the guitar has 7 way switching.

Well I didn't mention of course that they have a 5 way selector switch, and positions 2 & 4 give the "strat" style pickup configurations.

Basically, the Mk II Plue and the 1998 three pickups Deluxes are the best of both worlds. A Strat and a Tele in the one package. 8)

The color you are referring to was only produced for three years, 1998, 1999, and 2000. It is a premium ash body with passive electronics, and abalone dot fret markers, on a highly glossed fretboard. A friend of mine currently owns one of these here in Ohio. [quote="aschino"]Hi to all,
