Hi folks - my first post on your lovely forum and looking for some guidance.

I have seen this fantastic lefty 72 Custom re issue tele on Ebay - purportedly made in Japan, and being sold from Japan. Does anyone have one of these or know whether it is the real deal?

If it is real - opinions on how good they are?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

Thanks loads!

Nothing wrong there. This model "exists" if that's what you want to know, though I have no experience with them or the store.

At that price, you should check if it's not better to buy a more available MIM Custom.

I would certainly ask for some good non-stock pictures of the actual instrument being sold and it's weight, before buying.

Thanks for that - this is actually the first lefty re-issue I have seen with the neck humbucker, so I will keep searching and see if I can find a Mexican to compare.

Not enough info or pics for me to tell anything about it.

My personal opinion would be to avoid it.

And that price is a little high too.

Thanks - I have since checked the Fender website and price lists and they don't list a lefty version.

I also emailed the seller for pictures and got a vague reply saying they had contacted "the maker" but couldn't supply any pictures. Bearing in mind they claim to have two for sale I find that a little odd.

Looks like one to leave alone - shame, I really want one of these and it's weeks since I bought a new guitar!!!!!
