I did see that listing when it appeared and it probably was good value at that price (and yet no-one bought it, I believe).

The Custom Shop has made Rosewood teles for customers during it's existance, if that guitar is a 1997, then it is a very early one indeed.

Recently, this Rosewood came up on eBay and I couldn't resist it:

LOL, well getting a Tele would probably be my 3rd choice... after a Strat and a Gibson SG... but never say never! :)

This Rosewood Thinline features a "shorty" thinline pickguard.

Shorty guards are commonly used on many Suhr T-style electrics such as this white blond chambered Classic T shown below:
