It must be nice you must have some extra money or something. Me, I'll be lucky if I have a job next week. But I will still have my only guitar (MIM tele). Times are tough here in America. Lets not flaunt too much.

What happened to the pix? :( I didn't get to see them Ajay, and you already know how I feel about your rosies 8) I don't see this as flaunting, I see it as sharing beautiful instruments.

The photo hosting service I use appears to be having problems with my account. I am trying to find out why, but they aren't replying, so I'm guessing it's not just me with the problems...

WOW
I said WOW...
Congrats Ajay what a great bunch of rosewood Teles.

Now they are all sandwiched with a sheet of maple in the middle because rosewood is quite an oily wood and glue doesn't stand for long (thus the maple sheet to strengthen the construction).

ME told recently that he saw the actual solid rosewood Tele owned by George Harrison and it was falling apart because of such problem.

Hi Alain!

Thank you for your kind response. Coming from you, that is praise indeed! :D

Thats' very interesting, your information about the reason for the maple sandwich. Make sense to me.

I'm hoping that my Rosewood fization is now satisfied of course....

Ajay,

When you play them are there substantial or insignificant variations in tone from one to another (of the same nature)?

To be honest Alain, I haven't really done a side my side comparison, I ususally play my collectable guitars for a short while (say half and hour or so) when I buy them just to get an appreciation of who they play and what tey sound like and then put them either into storage or on display.

From my recollections however, the genuine 1969 Rosewood is a fairly thin sounding Tele - I put this down to it's age and maybe some degradation of the pots.

The Custom shop Rosewoods are all pretty similar, warmer sounding (but still definitely the Tele sound) and beautiful to play.

The MIJ Rosewoods aren't as warm sounding as the CS versions I think. They are much closer to a normal Tele sound, more treble in the bridge particularly.

Both of the veneer Rosewoods really just are standard CIJ and MIM Teles respectively, that look nice!

Okay Ajay I see I am not going to guitar rehab alone.lol The Eldred post Alain was talking about was a surprise to me because I did not know Harrisons Tele was chambered. So is it correct to say the MIJ Rosewoods are solid and the MIA are chambered. By the way just a beautiful collection.

The original Harrison Tele was not chambered nor with a maple leaf in between .
Although it has been repurchased by the Harrison Estate , the Tele is somewhat going apart because of the rosewood oily status which causes problems when glued to another piece of rosewood.
if you are in a buying mood ...

Afterward Fender issued a chambered rosewood tele with the layer of maple to avoid those problems.

Ajay, it's time to start a new collection in the same mood..
