At last. Got all the remaining parts yesterday from Guitar Parts Resource, and the final assembly started.

It's a "hybrid" guitar, I had a Stratocaster neck left over when all other projects was done, so I decided to purchase a Telecaster body.

Hello GoranS,

Great job on the guitar and the documentation.
Lot of fun reading about it, I'm sure playing, the same.

Best of luck with your creation.

Cheers.

Again thanks!!

Yes it's really fun to play with, I've been tweaking the setup and I think I have found the sweat-spots for the pickups.

The red color is nice in my opinion. It's a candy apple red color, the true nuance does not show on the pictures, it's darkish red with fine flakes and shiny top finish that really sparkles in the light. It was way better than I expected. I wanted to match it with the raw look of a '52 1-ply pickguard and a traditional vintage 3 saddle bridge, and I'm very pleased with how it looks. To me it's the essence of an electric guitar, no thrills just a guitar!

When lurking on the bay for a Tele body I wanted a traditional butterscotch, but so did a lot of others too apparently. I did bid on a couple but those butterscotch Fender bodies finally went for around $400+, too much IMO. So I had to rethink, I have had great experience with Mexican bodies in the past, my #1 Strat has one. And when this CAR Mexican body showed up for $179 "buy-it-now" I didn't have to think for long. Quite reasonable IMO.

I haven't given up for a butterscotch yet. I have GAS for a Warmouth body with tummy & forearm cut and a maple compound radius neck. But that is not cheap so I have to save up for it if I ever make it happen. :D

Always thinking ahead...I like that. FWIW, the butterscotch alder bodies are a little less expensive than the ash bodies.

Again, nice work my friend!

That what's keep me going. I really enjoy doing it, tweaking, planning and assemble guitars, and I wish there was a way of making a living out of it but the market is too small over here and I got a nice daytime job as it is. So I do it for my own pleasure.

Thanks my friend. :D

Sweet! Very, very sweet!

I really enjoy going through your builds and see what all you put together.

What's next?

Hi Goran, I see that you haven't chosen an avatar yet...maybe deciding between which to use?

Top left side, click on profile, scroll down to select one. Also, FWIW, Brad is upgrading the forum software in the very near future.
