You change to the brass saddles? I have a HWY1 too and was thinking on doing that as well for a more vintage look and sound.

Try String Saver graphite saddles. A little costly, but worth it both for sound and future adjustments - the adjuster screws don't ever sieze up, and the sustain is noticably improved. At least that's how it worked for me.
