Happy to have found this forum. Here is my quest. I'm looking for an American Deluxe Tele. Color needs to be the brightest most vibrant red imaginable with cream binding and a pearl pickguard.

Is there a current model that fits that description or one that has been produced in the past?

Thanks for your help and please ignore my lack of knowledge

Jeff

Hey Jeff - it sounds like you are on your search for the Holy Grail! The only really red Teles in production now are the GE Smith model in Dakota Red (but no binding) the Muddy Waters and James Burton are Candy Apple Red, but are not bound and I think MIM models, the closest you can get an American Deluxe is an aged Cherry Sunburst, which isn't what you want, American Standard in Candy Cola - nope. I have a new Classic Series '60s w/ a Bigsby that's Candy Apple Red with white binding, but it's got a Bigsby and is a Japanese model, and then the Standard Tele is offered in Candy Apple Red, but it is far from what you want.

Bummer... you are describing a beautiful Tele! Maybe Custom Shop if you have the spare change?

If you find one post pictures - I'd like to see that beauty!

Great, those are all of the models I was able to find as well and none of them quite fit the bill.

Time to start saving!

Am DLX cherry burst (not quite red but..)

http://www.fender.com/products/search.p ... 0101602731

Am STD Crimson Red Transparent:
http://www.fender.com/products//search. ... 0110502738

would need a new guard, and has no binding.

Custom Shop Nocaster Fiesta Red - no binding, no pearloid.

http://www.wildwoodguitars.com/electric ... /r6629.php

and finally... Masterbuilt heavy relic - would also need a new guard though.

Pearloid guard is what you should worry less about Jeff, since you can easily swap this part. Maybe you should have one built for you (or DIY), but I'm sure Fender produced at some point a Tele with the descriptions you gave.

Yes, I had my eye oin this cherry sunburst. Great look to it and it would match my American Standard Strat in Sienna Sunburst. But, because of the near identical look of them, decided against it. I did find that exact guitar for $800 used though.

The crimson red is nice but not looking for that type of "Transparency"

If I could get that Nocaster bound and change out the pick guard - I'd be there!

The Masterbilt is close to, but prefer a maple neck and not "relic'ed"

This last one - if it weren't reliced that ould be it...Can't tell if that neck is maple or rosewood though.

Thanks for helping out on the search - kind of fun searching around huh!

I saving is the order of the day you could get a customshop built to your spec's. You'll learn lots about saving before paying for it, but will get what you want, to a tee.

At 50 years of age I have hopefully stopped learning about saving and hopefully mastered it ! LOL!

This is a 2000 American Deluxe in Transparent Crimson. The pick guard has been swapped out from the original to this Fender white moto one. I am the original owner. I ordered it in special.

Yes like that one!

So, you ordered it from the Custom Shop or some other method?

Thanks

Jeff

Thanks for the link, I had not seen that ad. Looking for the maple neck however.

That price seems pretty robust too.

Nope. I wanted an American Deluxe in trans crimson with a maple board and they didn't have one in stock. I had to wait 3 weeks for it to come in and as soon as I plugged it in I knew it was the ONE, Neo. Just a local independent shop near me. I didn't even have to put any money down.
