cool, iv finally decided to go for a wilkinson bridge, keytone pickups, possibly a vintage cream scratch plate (im tryin to work out if that would look good on a sunburst or not :-/ ) and a bone nut with new string tees. The only other upgrade i was thinking about are the tuners... (lets be honest, there isn't much left!) I really like the look of the vintage button shaped ones, and would also like something a bit smoother to tune with, oh and obviously holds its tune! :P

any recommendations?

thanks guys!

hallo,

check out the kinman-pickups also - they are amazing. No hum - very dynamic, killersound. i have the broadcaster-set in my classic 50s-telly(also a MIM) and i`ll never change it ! when you`re looking for a 3-saddle-bridge, dont forget the compensated string-saddles for better intonation...

greetz, moccaguitar

The Keystones are fantastic. The thoughts in those reviews are very accurate. The best way I have heard them described is as a good microphone. They basically just amplify the natural tone of the guitar and in turn they sound IMO just as a Tele should. Clean they sound very pure and sparkling. They do dirty up damn nice though. It's hard to believe they are so cheap. You can only get them directly from Bill and Becky Lawrence.

hey, i went for ur pickups, just sticking them in now. I know it sounds stupid but how do you know which way to put the neck pickup in? it looks identical either way.

Also the wilkinson bridge, also stuck that on (saving all the mods to do in one go, cheaper on strings!) and was surprised to find that the bridge doesn't lay flat with the body or completely cover the pickup cavities. Im assuming you didn't have these problems did you? i hav no idea what to do, very annoyed with it to be honest after all the good reviews!
