I posted this in the forum but there was no answer so I'll try here. Thats the original message.

My Tele rattles like crazy and I don't know what to do!

I've heard you guys say that it rattles but it didn't do it as much as it does now.

You guys said it was the bridge right? If it is can I get a better one? how much will it cost?

Please and Thanks!!

I post it here too:

It sounds like its coming from the bridge area.

I'm having it taken to a luthier in a while

I forgot to put that it does have a low action. Thats Why I prefer it. But that might be the problem

You've probably got this fixed by now. But, I had the same problem when I first starting fiddling with intonation and saddle height. I had a modern style bridge with six individual saddles. I adjusted the strings to what I thought was a good playing height. But, I had the saddle set so that one allen screw was solid and the other was up off the surface. Or, up enough to be loose. I had thought the string tension would make it so both allen screws were tight against the base. I was so wrong. So when I played, I'd get this buzz from certain strings. All I had to do was tighten down the loose allen screw until it was tight enough to stop the buzz.

Nope, haven't got the time, Hopefully I'll get it fixed in the next few months.

Thanks!

I would have to agree, check the allen screws.

Had the same problem when I changed out from 10 to elevens and back...neglected to 'mate' both allen screws..they were close but no cigar... they both have to be down and if you finger pick and pull on the strings ..you amplify the problem...

Yeah, that 'rattelling' sound...and buzz if its close...

Yup, same thing here but in my case, the saddle screw wouldn't stay put and kept coming loose. I ordered a new bridge and all is well now.

I noticed that there seems to be two different size alen screws that are bagged..I had to go to the Tractor place (really) and get a std. size stainless which worked out...I think Fender is getting cheaper in their quality of products on newer units...from wire id to screws..I mean look at the new pickguard screws..it's a joke. I don't know, maybe it's me, but give me quality in small parts and I know the rest is better...cutting corners never pays...and they used to actually reply to questions...try it now....

I'm hoping I win a Gibson...ES339 or 335...or double cutaway Les Paul supreme...They even hold thier value...

Love Fender, but the old squires (without 'stacked' pu's) were more dynamic in sound demension than some of the new low end fender line..it seems to me. They were a lot 'cleaner' in sound and fit and finish than now.

Make sure the saddle "barrels" are level!!! I had noticed a slight high pitched buzzing on my Nashville tele. It was driving me crazy. Then I noticed although both adjustment screws were making contact with the brige plate, the side with the "string groove" was quite a bit higher. This made the string edge vibrate against the "string groove"!!!
Once I leveled out the saddle the annoying high pitched buzz was gone!
