I find it a tad annoying that you have a choice of maple or rosewood for the MIM Strats but not for Teles.

I guess as kind of an open letter, my wish would be to be able to purchase a MIM Tele in sunburst with rosewood. (As of now, with my budget, I have no way of getting the Highway One or the American model)

Has it always been this way?

Some MIM guitars can come with Rosewood necks. They are not common though.

Here's a recent MIM Nashville for example...

And I am buying a MIM Tele Custom with a Rosewood board tonight. They are pretty unusual.

You might think I am crazy, but a properly set up Squier Standard Teles can be just as good as any MIM Fender out there...Rosewood necks...highly recommended.

As far as I know, talking about the regular MIM Standards, yes. I also have no idea why they don't make those with a rosewood board. The same happens with the Road Worn and Baja Telecasters, that are available only with a maple fb. Fender must believe that Tele players prefer maple much more, so they just don't care about having a rosewood option for all the models. :?

Seems the only options left are getting a new neck and selling your old one, or buying a Classic Series 60's Tele, Nashville etc.
