Hey guys. I've browsed this forum off and on for awhile while I've been considering the purchaise of a couple of telecasters.

After reading many reviews and doing a tonne of research, the majority seems to be that the highway one is best suited for myself. Except for one thing really.

The vintage bridge on the highway one's definitly does not suit my playing style.
I am a fan of the ones that come on the american deluxe.

Basically my question is, is it worth changing the bridge on the highway one? Like is it a viable option to improve the playability of the guitar for my individual style without causing any issues to the actual guitar.

I believe you want a 6-saddles bridge? Or you want to keep the vintage-style with better intonation? If your case is the last one, you can just get some compensated saddles from a number of makers.

If you want a modern, I´m not sure which modern-6 saddle bridge properly fits the Highway1 with no mods, but you could start by measuring the distance between the high and low E strings and the installation screw holes, and compare with the measurements of these bridges they have available in online stores, like Stewmacs:

I'm pretty sure this would work even though it says for American standard. You could call them and find out. http://www.marshallparts.com/products/1 ... andard.htm

You are correct in the 6 saddle bridge yes.
Thanks for the idea about the measurements. From Eyeballing it, it seems like it will transition okay.

Will changing this cause any strain on the guitar or anything?

I just really hate the vintage style bridges.

No, I think that the worst that can happen is that your guitar will play more in tune :D
