All my Tele brethren...sorry, I just have to vent..I have played guitar for the better part of 30 years...I like to think that no matter where a Tele is made it is more of the skill of the player than the origin of the instrument. I was fortunate enough to witness Blue Miller(Bob Seger's former lead guitarist and lead guitarist of the Gibson Miller Band) sit and play an amazing hour of music on a beat up old piece of junk Hondo guitar. I appreciate everyone's pride in their instrument...but the origin snobbery just rubs me the wrong way. I have an MIA Strat, Squire Strat, and MIA Tele, and MIM Tele...all of them sound incredible to me. Sorry for the venting...just play!...On a Fender..:)

Not sure if this is a reply to my previous post, but ok. I was just looking around to see if anyone has had problems similar to mine. I've owned a Korean Fender acoustic (DG-22s) for 12 years, and it is of the highest quality. Love the thing, no complaints. No country of origin snobbery intended, just questions.

(and if I hadn't had to return the thing I COULD shut up and play :D )

Truth!

Just play the guitars, that is why you buy them... right?

I own a few MIM treasures, and wouldn't trade them for anything!

but then what will the people who can't play all that well get to brag about? At least at the moment they can brag about having an expensive USA made guitar. Lets give them something while we make our "cheap" guitars sound awesome.

S'cool. And besides, my dad's a wuss. :D In a related note: My replacement arrived yesterday at my local shop! Another CII custom tele fmt hh. Black cherry with the duncans. The pickups were a little dinged, but I don't care! She plays wonderfully thru my line 6 and after I actually learn how to set the dear up and get used to the jumbo frets (man, are they TALL!) I'll be even happier! I even cut out of work early to pick her up and futz around all afternoon. Shiny new callouses..........

Thats cool. You're a very lucky man.

If you can afford hi end then lucky you people. If not just ENJOY it and love Fender for making such a range available.

Peace.

Like the original post, I wholeheartedly disagree – two reasons:

1) You get what you put in more like. A bad player can make the most expensive guitar sound awful – and vice versa.

2) As for origin and price – I bought a Mexican 50's and an American Deluxe Ash Tele last week. The Mex sounds nicer, feels nicer, is two pounds lighter and more acoustic and has a nicer neck.... all those 'extras' for half the price!

i tend to agree with the original post...i believe it's the player more than the guitar.

i have a mim tele, a 52 reissue mia tele, a mim strat, and a 62 mia reissue strat. i play and like all of my guitars.

but i would be fooling myself if i said that there was no difference between the quality level of these guitars.

as i said all are great guitars...but the mia reissue 52 tele and mia 62 reissue strat are worth the increased cost. both are awesome guitars.
