while both changing your pickups, and using a different amp will change your sound. i would suggest replacing your amp first.

a great amp can make even bad guitar sound good,

(Not saying that you have a bad guitar, just that an amp will improve your sound.)

Amp first for sure.

No matter what pickup you have, if the amp is no good, the guitar won´t sound as great as she can be.

Never played the Blues Deluxe.

The amp.

Recommend you sit down for a real long session with a Cyber-Twin and play the same song with the guitar controls on the same setting, through it, from Champ through tweeds to Blackface to Silverface to modern and you will gain much more true understanding of amp effect than a few words here can convey. Then phart around with the settings on the guitar and run through the amp selection again. Enlightenment.

Best of fortune.

Definitely the amp 1st. Pickups will make a difference, but not as much as the amp, especially if your replacing single coils with single coils and humbuckers with humbuckers.
