Just picked up a used tele and am looking for additional info. It's an FSR and still have the serial number tag with FRS 699 listed. Serial number stamped on the neck plate reads 38 of 50 - so does the original tag. Was told it was a special run by now defunct MARS music - bought in 1998. It has gold plated hardware, gold tuners with pearl tuning knobs. Fitted with a DeArmond gold tone humbucker in the neck position. Have it in shop being set up now, but would appreciate any additional info. Alder body/ash body ?
was it made at custom shop versus Corona Factory ? Any idea of value ?
Very cool instrument, black w/creme binding, 3 ply black p/guard - middle layer white - overall great shape.
Any info would be helpful, even about the FSR program. Not looking to sell, just looking for info.
Kip

Rob,
That's the model - thanks for the info. Any idea how many of this model outside of this special run of 50 might have been made ?
Thanks again - Kip

Hi again Kip,
Typically, if they said 50...it was 50. There may be 1 or 2 prototypes floating around, but its doubtful. I'll add--- that with any luck (at the time) from a service point of view, they made a few extra bodies, necks, etc just in case one went down....but I couldn't swear it to you.

Hope that helps,
all the best,
rob

Hey, I have one of those teles w the dearmond gold tone pick up and gold hardware. It's #5 of 50. I was looking to sell it but have no clue what to put it up for? Does anyone know how to come up with a used price on a guitar? Thanks, josh
