Find a MIJ Deluxe, around 1993 - 1998 vintage, with the three pickups. They are super versatile and sound awesome either clean or dirty.

I have a lot of guitars, but I keep picking up my MIJ Deluxe Tele over all others.

Went to a jam night last night, hadn't taken the guitar out fo the case since the previous week's jam performance and it was still in tune (and remained in tune while playing) Just fantastic.

Here she is:

you could get a 72 deluxe with two humb or you could get a standard tele and put jb jr. humbucker in the bridge (no routing or anything). there are plenty of models and you can always modify.

also try ishibashi for an even better selection.

Try the Classic Series (made in Mexico), Some different models to choose
from. You can always upgrade them with better pickups if necessary.

Well,that's a tough question

Esquire comes with only one pickup(bridge).
'60s Tele(rosewood fingerboard).
'50s Tele(maple fingerboard).
'50s and '60s with Bigsby vibrato.
'69 Tele Thinline 2 single coil PU's.
'72 Tele Deluxe 2 humbucking PU's.
'72 Tele Custom bridge SC and neck HB.
'72 Tele Thinline with 2 HB's.

It's your pick, what guitars are used by your favourite players :?:

You could always install some humbuckers with a push/pull pot and coil-tap the humbucker for the clean sounds!

The nashville tele is a good choice. I have an american standard and a american deluxe, and use both for the southern rock sound. they both work. I also use a tele with teh tele texas specials in it and that thing is fat and sounds good for bluesy stuff

Go to the guitar store with the largest inventory of Teles. Guitar Center is cool, but don't expect expert help! Sit down with the amp of your choice and spend the next three hours playing every Tele in the store. They all are different and I've even found some Squires that have an awesome tone. (not often, but it happens). I think Mexi Fenders have come up in the world, but so have their prices. If you are on a budget, I'd stick with Mexi Fenders and Squires. First, I'd start with all the variations, other than the standard pickups. Three pickups, buckers, whatever. Don't forget the used ones, too. Personally, I think the Deluxe with two Fender buckers would work just fine.

Turn it up.
