Hello Tanner1994,

My vote will always be
American Standard----comes with hardshell case.
and in my humble opinion finish is nicer & more durable.
Soundwise I still vote American Std, make mine Ash.

Cheers.

I like the Highway 1 model because it has a vintage type bridge and seems more like a relic guitar. I like them!

Hello Tanner 1994,

Yep, so you can stack them nicely.

Cheers.

I prefer the MIA bridges over the vintage, so i'm going to +1 this suggestion.

I have the highway one and love it. Considering the price difference it depends what you can afford. I got my HWY 1 for amost half and it has a couple of feature the Standard doesn't have such as the greasebucket tone control and the jumbo frets. I see you already have a brand new American standard strat. If it was me I'd try the Hwy 1 Tele and if I liked it thats what I would get. Hey don't bury yourself in guitars!

Can't go wrong with either, both are American made but the price you will pay for the HWY 1 is going to be lower while it is still a guitar that has a msrp of 1100-1200.

There is also a difference in fret sizes. You may want to play both and determine which one you feel most comfortable with.

I also prefer the American Standards. I've never been a fan of the Hwy 1 finishes, although many of them play very well.

I think you really have to pick up each one and play it and maybe a couple of each. They are 2 different guitars. Feel and sound. Pick the that fits you and not the opinions of others. If we all did that We'd all be playing no-casters cuz Leo would of stopped creating when he got the first one right. 8)
