The wife and I are beginners, learning our basics and enjoy Country & Western music style (primarly because we are members of Cowboy Church in Texas).

We are close to getting our first electric guitar and think the Fender Delux Nashville is our best selection.

We want to ensure we select an American made guitar and, one that is targeted to our music style.

Advise would be very helpful for us...

Well, you cannot go wrong with buying a Telecaster and the model you chose is a very versatile guitar. I think that it is perfect for almost any style (maybe not metal) and is a guitar you can grow into as time goes on. I don't think you can do better. Please keep us posted and put up some pics!!!!

I bought my Deluxe Nashville about a month ago and I absolutely love it! Mine is Honey Blonde. The three Tex-Mex pups give it a lot of different options for what I play. My focus is Blues, Rock-a-Billy, Country AND Western. It fits very nicely for each genre. I have even started to do some fingerstyle playing with it and the sound is awesome! I'm still very much in the beginner stage and I think this will be a great guitar to help me mature my sound.

It has a little more punch than my Standard Tele and has become the first guitar I grab when I sit down to practice.

It's a great guitar that gives me a great value for what it cost. The Tele will look right in place when you are playing in Cowboy Church. Grab it - you'll be glad you did!

Can't go wrong with a Nashville Tele, but also look into the Highway 1 tele. It's made in the good ol USA also.

That Tele would sound great with a Fender Deluxe Reverb Re-Issue, or if that's over your budget, try a Super Champ XD. Just my 2 cents!

To my knowledge, the Nashville Deluxe is made in Mexico. However there is also a Powered Nashville Deluxe Telecaster. The headstock photo I was able to find wasn't big enough to show the decal clearly. John.E

Thanks ya'll...good input for me to consider

The Delux Reverb comes in 2 models...one is $1k and the other $1,400

The Super Champ XD is priced at about $300...

What about the Pro Junior Combo...it is priced at $400 (sinble 10" speaker with simple volume and tone knob controls)...?

greenemachine - I have a Pro Jr. and I love it. The simple controls (volume and tone) are all I really need, though reverb would be nice. I love the clean tones and the breakup it produces. I run my Teles through it and get some good twang. It also takes pedals well. I should mention that I don't have as much experience with different amps as many other members here. Hopefully those with more knowledge & experience will chime in.

Well, I have found two things to be true:
1) There is a difference in quality & price bewteen the Mexico vs. USA made guitars

2) There are multiple Amp options to consider

On the Guitar front, I found:
1) Delux Nashville is made in Mexico (not certain about the Power version) and sales at $650
2) The "B-Bender" is basically the Nashville unit, but it is made in USA and sales at $1,300

On the Amp front, I have narrowed my choices as follows:
1) Hot Rod Delux (1x12 @ 40w) $670
2) Super Champ XD (1x10 @ 15w) $300
3) Delux Referb Re-Issue (2x12 @ 22w) = More than I need = $1,400

My wife and I will not physically go looking with our default set towards USA made Guitar and Hot Rod series AMP...

Are we on the right road? :?

Hello Greenemachine,

Firstly welcome to this forum.

Well I'm gonna stray a bit and suggest the
American Standard Telecaster. More expensive but you
get a airline friendly quality hardshell case, and if you
get a highway 1 and same case your in about the same money.
American Standard sports a far more durable urethane finish
where the Highway 1 is a nitro paint job and will require more
care. Plus I feel fit, finish, and tone are superior on the Am Std.

OK, so now you spent more on the guitar, so the amp of choice
will be the Super Champ XD. All kind of bells and whistles to
fool around with. Mic it if you need more volume.

Best of luck with your choice.

Cheers.

I adore my Pro Junior. As far as I'm concerned, no amp complements a Tele better than this little tone monster. It sounds great, it's got enough oomph for any gig -- provided you mic it in some cases -- and is easy to carry around! Go for it!

I agree with Vulkan. The Pro Jr. is a solid little amp which compliments a Tele very well.

Here is a Tele that I recently picked up and I love it (more than my Am. Standard). It might be worth checking out. Don't let the price fool you, it is one hell of a twang machine:
