It's a real drag trying to find a Ritchie Kotzen tele in the west.
Some come up on ebay occasionally but they're almost always in Japan and cost a fortune for shipping to America etc.

How come there's no USA Kotzen teles or strats?
Or at least a MIM version?

Fender should have the Kotzen strats and teles over here as well!!

Anyone know why there are none?

thanks

Though I don't know the true answer but my guess is because the Kotzen model is MIJ or somewhere in Asia. There is a market over there for it because he is huge over there more so then Stateside. So that would be my guess though there may be other factors.

Yep, Drunkinminer pretty much got it right. They are Fender Japan and he is HUGE there.

I've had mine for about 4 years now and have watched these on Ebay. The current prices are somewhat close to what you would pay in a Japanese retail store and the $120 shipping is the pain and price one pays for not living in Japan. On the bright side, the RK tele will arrive from Japan in about 2-3 days and is a terrific guitar.

I'm on the hunt for a Seafoam Green one...

Interesting time this topic appeared, I was thinking about that exactly today, after a guy posted a Kotzen video link in another forum I'm a member.

Checking the fan's comments under his videos, I noticed that he has a huge following in South America (he's very very popular here in Brazil), Japan and Europe. Many comments are made in italian, spanish, portuguese etc.

So maybe Fender USA never thought about making a US version of his guitar because his not that popular there?

all most people know about him here (u.s.) is that he was a replacement guitarist for Poison for a short period of time.

That's about it. It's not that he's not popular, he's just not really known, and the one thing he's known for isn't really worth bragging about. (being in a pop/glam band.)

Nobody's ever heard of him in the US, although the videos show that he is really good.

He, when are they going to put out a Chris Rea Stratocaster, huh?

Maybe Fender should just ship a "Sharpie" with all guitars... :D

Now was it Ritchie or Blues Saraceno who was subsequently kicked out of Poison for sleeping with the girlfriend of a fellow band member, or was it girlfriends of fellow band members? I thought I recalled hearing something about that back in the day...

I thought it was Kotzen, thanks for verifying...I actually liked the solo albums that both Ritchie and Blues did for on the Shrapnel label, though Cacophony was my favorite band on that label... 8)
